1. I believe that a student’s intellectual ceiling can be dictated by the willingness of educators to engage through creativity and comic relief. Establishing a culture based on respect, consistency, reflection and rigor will allow me to push such a boundary. It is my goal as an educator to enable students to become productive, responsible, and caring members of not only their education community but society.

Horace Mann’s initiative to create an education system where all students would be entitled to a baseline of content began to develop my philosophy of education. Young people are cursed by an inability of foresight. It is the responsibility of a public to give equal prospects when cultivating the thought process of tomorrows leaders. I will do this by instilling an unbreakable sense of self-worth. Cultivate instruction around engagement not content, while repetitively instilling values of nationalism so that they will not view society as another problem.

Evoking such extensive aspirations is not without skepticism. Having spent six years developing enrichment strategies with public school’s facilities have produced many wonderful relationships with young people. The past two spent on the administration side have awakened my high purpose to create synergy inside an education system hinging upon transparency and dedication for the secular cause of supporting a community through its youth.

2. I am proficient using my iPhone and Microsoft apps on the computer. Following our first class discussion, there are an abundant amount of technology related topics I know nothing about.

3. Within the past three years technology has shifted from exclusively being teacher enhancing to incorporation of students. Smart boards moved into hand held responses trackers. Now it is nearly explicitly tablet driven technology using chrome books. Integrating technology is using creating accessibility for students.

4. Hoping to become a middle school elementary mathematics teacher, I am at a loss for incorporation technology as a generalized staple. Each lesson plan must be crafted to facilitate tech emersion. Lessons will incorporate "orangey" quizzes as a formative assessment tool. Lesson dealing with research, will utilized chrome books to investigate and create a presentation about mathematicians.
